Waterskiing & Wakeboarding
Easily one of camp's most popular activities. Shared with our sister camp, Camp Chinqueka, the waterskiing program is
offered weekdays on beautiful Bantam Lake. Campers receive instruction in all skill levels of waterskiing, including
beginning skiing, trick skiing, slalom or barefoot. We have a training bar for campers who are just beginning. In
addition, we also offer campers the opportunity to try their skills at kneeboarding.

Swimming
Campers receive swim instruction from American Red Cross certified counselors and can enjoy free swim all afternoon
if they choose. The goal of the waterfront staff is to teach campers to swim better while still having fun. This
philosophy is at the heart of all of our instruction programs, from beginner to Lifeguard Training.

Canoeing & Boating
Awosting's Canoe and Rowboat fleet is nearly 2 dozen strong. Campers receive instruction in certified programs and
may receive their Basic Rowing or Fundamentals of Canoeing certification if they pass their test at the end of the
course. Campers also use the many boating facilities for afternoon journeys on the lake or fishing expeditions. Day
and overnight canoe trips are also offered throughout the summer.

Crew
Hop in a four person shell and glide across the lake in one of our crew boats. Senior campers are invited to test
or improve their skills during the afternoon. You won't believe how quickly these boats can move!

Sailing
Use the winds of the Litchfield hills give to skipper of one of our many sailboats. Our boats include Sunfish,
Daysailors, and Catamarans. Additionally, regattas with our girls camp, Camp Chinqueka, are often scheduled
throughout the summer.

River Tubing
Campers have the opportunity to take an afternoon trip for an adventure in white water river tubing down the
Farmington River. The campers are supervised by waterfront staff at all times. Our staff chooses a route which will
allow campers to have fun, without compromising their safety. Are you tough enough to brave the rapids...? Trips are
offered weekly and a minimum swimming level is enforced for camper safety.

Fishing
Bantam Lake has been known to produce some of the finest fish in Northwestern Connecticut. Campers may use the waterfront
docks and boats to fish from during afternoon electives and evening activities, when offered. Additionally, the waterfront
opens up occasionally on rainy days to test the theory that the fish really do bite better in the rain.
