Chris Tucci is director of Camp Awosting, having joined our camp family in 2004. He holds a BA from
Muskingum College and an Masters of Fine Arts from UCLA and currently teaches at the Warner Center for Arts
Education and is a speaker at American Camp Association conferences. Growing up, Chris spent his summers at
Camp Hidden Hollow in Ohio and Camp Gunnison in Colorado. He and his wife Kate (director of Boulder Ridge
Day Camp in Barkhamsted, CT) live on campus year round with their son Hyatt. Since Chris took over as Director,
he has brought many new ideas on how to have fun and a great love of camp to Awosting. He has found a way to
blend the traditions of Awosting's history in with the best new ideas in summer camping, creating a unique
summer program any boy is sure to love. Chris is a licensed camp director by the State of Connecticut.
Buzz and Sherry Ebner are Directors Emeritus of Camp Awosting and have been together at Awosting for
over 40 years. Buzz has actually been at Awosting for over 60 years, having started as a camper at age 6 and
been on the staff since he was 16, including nearly 30 years as Director starting in 1975. Buzz earned a B.A.
in Education from Newark State College (now known as Kean University) in Union, NJ. and received his M.A. in
Vocational Education from Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ. Buzz has formerly taught in the East
Orange, NJ and Newington, CT public school systems. Sherry, a CT licensed Registered Nurse, oversees the health
and food programs at both camps. She is affectionately referred to as the 'Camp Mother'. They are the "engine"
that makes Awosting run - combining caring and fun to make sure each camper is treated like one of their own
children. Buzz is a licensed camp director by the State of Connecticut.
Buzz and Sherry's three children, Kristin, Kevin, and Kurt, are co-owners of Ebner Camps. Kristin and Kevin are
Directors of Chinqueka and Boulder Ridge Day Camp, respectively.
Steve Jepson is Awosting's Waterfront Director. He and his wife, Pauline, have been part of our camp family
for many years, working originally as a staff member and then working his way up to Waterfront Director over the
years. Pauline works as part of Chinqueka's administration.
Rachel & Ian Endersby are integral parts of Awosting's administration and have been with us for more
than 20 years. Ian first joined us from the UK as a staff member in the 1980's and came back a few summers later
with his new wife, Rachel. They have come back nearly every summer since with 3 daughters and 2 sons, all of
which have been very active members of Awosting & Chinqueka.
